Sargent Mountain - Acadia National Park, ME, USA

One week into September, and it already is starting to feel like fall. It barely passed 70 degrees today - perfect hiking weather! It was even quite chilly at the summit, which was a nice change from the summer heat.

The 1375 foot Sargent Mountain is one of the best hikes I’ve done in a while. Jesse and I climbed up the Hadlock trail to the South Ridge, and came down the Maple Spring trail. We could see everything from the summit - other Acadian mountains, Somes Sound, Northeast Harbor - it was great! The hike was not as “strenuous” as my map said it would be, but I broke at least a little sweat.
