Beech Cliffs - Acadia National Park, ME, USA

Before I carry on with this post, I need to confess that I snuck a picture of one of my dogs, Abbie, and a couple of my chickens in here. Those were taken at home, not at Acadia. I don’t know how I would even get my chickens to Acadia, let alone how I would get them to go hiking.

Jesse and I hit the west side of the park again. We found Beech Cliffs, which was a relatively easy, but delightful walk. It overlooked Somes Sound and Echo Lake and its sandy beach. Blueberries were starting to ripen, and I definitely ate a few. I’m not a huge fan of blueberries, unless I’ve just plucked them from the bush. They’re extra tasty when you’ve gone through all that hard work to get to them.

On the way back, I pulled over in downtown Somesville, since there was an absolutely gorgeous view of Somes Pond and one of Acadia’s mountains. I’m not sure which one it was, though. Maybe Western or Bernard Mountain? I don’t know. I get pretty depressed when it’s Sunday evening and I know I don’t get to go adventuring again until Saturday…
