My brother and I went on a little adventure to the Desert of Maine. Apparently the area used to be a farm in the 1800’s until the sand started creeping in. It eventually took over and now we have almost 10 feet of sand piled up in a little chunk of Freeport. There’s short little grasses and plants scattered around the sand, and normal forests surrounding the area. It wasn’t the best place for photography, but it sure peaked my curiosity.
That does look pretty nifty. Was there actual water in the "oasis"?
